We kicked off our first post pandemic MoPed event with an inspiring session from Gemma Hignett, Marketing & Product Development Manager at Evergreen Garden Care NZ. 

A longtime marketing professional and former MoPed committee member, Gemma brought her passion for sustainability and brand purpose to the room.

Gemma shared how organisations and brands had a real opportunity to lead positive change by embedding sustainability into products, services, and operations—well before regulations or competitors forced their hand. Gemma highlighted how taking proactive, sustainability led action wasn’t just the right thing to do, but a powerful competitive advantage when communicated authentically.

For marketers, her message was clear: We play a key role in championing these shifts, shaping stories that connect with customers on a deeper level and building brands that genuinely reflect their values. Through practical examples and thoughtful insights, Gemma showed how aligning sustainability with brand strategy could create long term value and trust.

It was a fantastic way to relaunch MoPed for the year — energising, relevant, and full of future focused thinking. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped restart MoPed with a sustainable spark!
